Crab Trap 1 on the Terra Ceia Bay

The original incarnation of the Sea Hut began in a little thatched roof restaurant at a marina on the tip of Snead Island in 1976.  Eight years later with business outgrowing capacity, we moved locations, expanded our menu and changed our name to the Crab Trap. Founder Lee Cline and his wife, Margaret’s, vision continued to evolve with the opening of a second location, Crab Trap II, in Ellenton.  Passed down into the hands of Lee and Margaret's daughter, Donna, and their grandson, Jarrett, the restaurant has been undergoing a an exciting and revitalizing transformation.  

Inspired by family recipes brought down from the Chesapeake Bay area in Maryland, our menu features an impressive selection of fish, shrimp, lobster and crab just about any variety any way you like it. We’d like to think it’s the perfect place to bring your friends and family to sip and dine the day or night away in a casual Old Florida ambiance.

We take great pride in consciously sourcing our seafood. We support our local growers as often as possible. We refuse to cut corners or pass along a substandard product to our customers. We strongly believe that you deserve a high-quality dining experience that gives you the greatest value for your money. We are 37 years in the making, and our vision for the future is passionate and bright.
